Start of year 2025

Year 12-13 Course Confirmation 

Who: ALL Year 12 and 13 students attending Te Aratai College in 2025. Whānau are also welcome.

When: Monday 3rd February 2025 11:00am-2:00pm or Tuesday 4th February 2025, 10:30am-12:30pm. These are drop in sessions.

Where: Te Puna

Why: To ensure all Year 12 and 13 students are in appropriate courses that support their learning, tertiary and career pathways. Students MUST attend course confirmation before they attend classes.

Mihi Whakatau for all new students and their whānau

Please note that for 2025 there will be two mihi whakatau.

Who: New Year 9-13 students and their whānau

When: Tuesday 4th February 2025.

Info: All new learners (Year 9-13) and their whānau are asked to be at school by 8:30am for a briefing. We will begin with a mihi whakatau (welcome) at 9:00am. All new learners and their whānau are asked to meet at the main entrance on Aldwins Road. The mihi whakatau (welcome) will be followed by kai and new Year 10-13 students will follow with whanaungatanga (meet and greet) finishing approx 10:30am. All Year 9’s will stay on for induction until the end of school day.

Who: New Year 7-8 students and their whānau

When: Tuesday 4th February 2025.

Info: All new learners (Year 7-8) and their whānau are asked to be at school by 9:30am for a briefing. We will begin with a mihi whakatau (welcome) at 10:00am. All new learners and their whānau are asked to meet at the tennis courts. The mihi whakatau (welcome) will be followed by kai and new Year 8 students will follow with whanaungatanga (meet and greet) finishing approx 11:30am. All Year 7’s will stay on for induction until the end of school day.

New Year 9 students asTTle Testing

When: Tuesday 4th February, 2025 from 11:00am.This is for new Year 9 students who haven’t already been to school for testing during 2024.
