Individual Services
STAR
Secondary Tertiary Alignment Resource – Te Aratai College receives funding to support students to access programmes, events, courses, experiences and opportunities that help them set goals, make decisions and transition from school to tertiary study and/or employment.

Gateway
The Gateway Programme provides the opportunity for workplace experience and learning, strengthening pathways to further education and training or employment.

Pre-Employment Trades/Training
This timetabled course focuses on communication skills for employment and training, giving learners opportunities to build their confidence, literacy, and social skills through experiential learning. Learners will identify their learning goals while developing their CV for the workplace and trades training. Learners will gain their driver’s licence, and develop their research skills to make positive choices about their next steps in their future careers.
Dual Enrolment
Students in years 11-13 are able to access Dual Enrolment courses at several tertiary providers nearby. Students attend Te Aratai College for 3-4 days a week, and attend a local training provider for 1-2 days a week, depending on their course. These are hands-on courses for students who want to try out an industry, and get some credits toward their NCEA also.
